Charles Capps: Jesus, The Word Made Flesh

By Charles Capps

http://www.charlescapps.com

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.  The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.  He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.  That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.  He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.  He came unto his own, and his own received him not.  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:6-14)

The scriptures reveal that God works through covenants with righteous men in order to destroy the kingdom of darkness.  Jesus was born on earth with the authority of man so he could destroy the work of the devil.  Man’s earthly authority was needed to go along with God’s ability to perform the work.  All of the universe must have sighed in relief the day Abraham raised the knife over Isaac.  The redemption of mankind rested upon his obedience to the blood covenant.  God swore an oath that shall stand forever. By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:  That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies. (Genesis 22: 16-17)

Thy seed, notice it was not seeds, but seed, and Jesus was the seed!  When God was telling of the curse, He said to the serpent, The seed of the woman shall bruise your head. (Genesis 3:15)

This prophecy came forth from Isaiah:  A virgin shall conceive, and bear a son.  God set His Word in motion through His prophet.  Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign;  Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel (God with us). (Isaiah 7:14)

MARY RECEIVED THE WORD

And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.  And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary:  for thou hast found favour with God. (Luke 1:26-30)

And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.  He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest:  and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:  and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.  Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? (Luke 1:31-34)  Mary didn’t doubt that it would happen, but she wanted to know how.

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee:  therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:35)

In John chapter one, John said, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.  The Word was the seed.  Mary conceived the incorruptible seed of God’s Word through an act of the God-kind of faith, and it caused a miraculous conception.  And, behold, thy cousin Elizabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age:  and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.  For with God nothing shall be impossible.  (Luke 1:36-37)

And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. (Luke 1:38)

In Mark 11:23, Jesus tells us how the God-kind of faith works.  whosoever shall say and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

God found a woman that would both believe and say, Be it unto me according to thy word. not according to feelings, and not according to logic, but according to Thy Word.  Mary conceived the Word of God in her heart, then she went to Elisabeth’s house and told her.  Elisabeth said, blessed is she that believed:  for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
Then Mary said, He that is mighty hath done to me great things.  How did she know?  She believed the angel of the Lord, and she received the Word from God.  Her own words reveal her faith, He hath done great things.  Mary conceived God’s Word in her spirit.  Once it was conceived in her spirit, it manifested itself in her physical body.  The Word was made flesh.  The embryo in Mary’s womb was the Word of God and it took flesh upon itself.

The Word of God was conceived by an act of the God-kind of faith and Jesus was born on the earth.  He was the living Word of God, the Word in flesh form!  He was the seed of righteousness that God planted in the earth.  Mary dared to believe and receive the seed sent from God.

God’s Word will get you saved, healed or filled with the Holy Ghost the same way that the miraculous conception took place!  Any believer that will conceive God’s Word concerning healing in their spirit, it will eventually manifest itself in their physical body!  If you conceive God’s Word concerning prosperity, then prosperity will manifest itself in your business affairs.  When you conceive God’s Word concerning the Holy Spirit,  He will manifest Himself in your spirit.

In His own words Jesus said, Every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.  How much more shall the Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?  When you receive God’s Word into your spirit, it will manifest itself in you.

The faith of God in Mary’s heart caused her to speak and conceive that Word in her spirit, and then it manifested itself in her physical body.

The Incorruptible Seed

I Peter 1:23 states, Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God which liveth and abideth for ever.  The seed that the woman conceived was the incorruptible seed.  When God prophesied about Eve in Genesis 3, He referred to the seed of the woman.  The seed Mary received was the Word.  The incorruptible seed took flesh upon itself and dwelt among us.
Jesus Christ was born of a virgin through a miraculous conception by faith.  It was through the God-kind of faith.  Jesus came to earth, born of the everlasting Word, and there was no death in Him.

One reason He had to be born of  virgin was that the bloodline follows the father.  In the Old Testament days, all the inheritance followed the father.  The life of the flesh is in the blood.  The death of the flesh is also in the blood, because of the choice Adam made in the garden.  After Adam sinned, every child born from Adam until now has life and death in his bloodstream.

Jesus Christ was a man anointed with the Holy Ghost.  Some say, I don’t understand why Jesus had to be born on earth.  Why didn’t God just destroy the devil?  He couldn’t do that because He had given the dominion of the earth to man, therefore He chose to make covenants with righteous men.  Jesus came in the form of man and with the body of a man.  This made it perfectly legal for Jesus to destroy the work of the devil.  For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself. (John 5:26)

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (I John 3:8b)  The immortal words of Jesus were heard throughout the universe in the realm of the spirit as Jesus said, The Spirit of Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me. (Luke 4:18)

The Necessity of the Virgin Birth

Every person born after Adam sinned was born in sin.  The rebellious nature of Adam was passed down to them.  He was born of a woman, but Jesus had no earthly father.  This is what makes the virgin birth a must.  The bloodline was from His father God.

The embryo in Mary’s womb was the pure Word of God.  Therefore, Jesus had pure blood, filled with life, from His Father God.  He was born of a virgin, with the bloodline of God in His veins.  There was no death in Him but He yielded to death on the cross.  Remember His words, No man taketh it (life) from me, but I lay it down myself.  Satan cometh, but he has nothing in me.

They tried to kill Jesus several time, but He passed through the midst of them.  He was born of a woman, but the life of God flowed in His veins.  He was the perfect Lamb of God.  He had the life of God and He gave His life for a sin offering for the wicked world.
Jesus was born of a virgin so that redemption through His blood could become a reality.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (Luke 2:11)  He is the living Word of God!  His name is Emmanuel meaning, God with us.

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Maranatha!
